At the end of August, the Kosi River in India overflowed its banks in the state of Bihar after heavy monsoon rains caused a dam in neighbouring Nepal to burst, triggering what officials call the worst flooding in 50 years. Some 900,000 people have fled their homes or been evacuated by boat since the Kosi River broke through its defences on the border with Nepal three weeks ago and changed course...
